Bankarama 2.5 released for all platforms

March 6, 2008 - Bankarama, the popular mobile personal finance application, today released version 2.5 for Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, and Symbian devices.

Bankarama product manager Jason Thane hailed the release as an important step in the quest to provide the wide Bankarama feature set on all mobile platforms. "Our most popular features for Windows Mobile, including password protection and cleared balances, are now available on all our supported platforms," said Thane.

Bankarama released for BlackBerry and Symbian devices

November 20, 2007 - Bankarama, the popular mobile application that stops bank overdrafts, has been released for BlackBerry and Symbian devices.

Bankarama provides a quick way to note debit card transactions, using the mobile phone like a checkbook register. The user enters transactions into the phone as soon as they are made, eliminating any uncertainty about what the correct account balance is. According to Bankarama product manager Jason Thane, some banks today make more money from overdraft fees than they do from loan interest.

Thane says that although most people no longer carry a checkbook register, most people carry a mobile phone. Bankarama's focus, according to Thane, is on minimizing the time required to enter a transaction. "For mobile applications, usability is critical," said Thane. "People won't integrate a mobile application into their lives unless it's very quick and easy to use."

April 12, 2007 - Bankarama, the popular Windows Mobile personal finance application, today released a new set of usability enhancements intended to speed the process of entering a transaction.

Bankarama product manager Jason Thane alluded to the need for easy-to-use mobile software. "Mobile software can be extremely useful if it's been optimized to fit in with everyday life", said Thane. The problem, Thane says, is that most mobile titles today present the user with a complicated user interface, when users would rather have simplicity and speed.

"Usability refinement is critically important" to achieving these goals, according to Thane. Thane also noted that Bankarama has reduced the time needed to enter a transaction to less than three seconds, compared to eleven seconds with other software, and up to thirty seconds with pen and paper. "Almost nobody carries a checkbook register around for the purpose of recording debit card transactions," said Thane, "but most of us carry a cell phone."
